SekolahSemangatMaju (SSM) Taiping is a school for children with intellectual disabilities. SSM Taiping was established in 1991 at JKR 256, Jalan Hang Jebat,Taiping, Perak.

The school started with 17 students but now has 100 students. The children admitted to this school are slow learners and children with learning disabilities such as Down’s Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy and Mental Retardation.

OBJECTIVE

To guide and teach special children to be independent so that they are accepted by the community.

MANAGEMENT

The school managed by a committee consisting of 11 volunteers.
